About Tropism

OUR STORY

Tropism exists to change the relationship between people and their indoor plants

Plants provide clean air, rituals of care, and gentle life wherever they thrive. Despite how much we love them, plant parents feel moments of overwhelm as spaces for plants fill and the hassle of cleaning and caring for them escalates. Tropism exists to ease the relationship between you and the plants you nourish.

Our mission is simple: change the way people interact with their plants indoors. We build hinged or rolling steel frames that mobilize plants in front of windows. Tropism functionally creates plant window curtains that effortlessly move to return your control of the light, air, and aesthetic of your space. This means more plants in less space, easier care of both plants and home, and cleaner, more natural-feeling rooms.

BRAND VISION

Built for Living Spaces

Every Tropism frame is built in Montana by the owner and skilled local fabricators. We keep production here because it strengthens community—fair wages, solvent partnerships, and money that stays local instead of getting lost in overseas supply chains.

We believe plants shouldn’t be obstacles. They should be companions, responsive to your life, and a source of beauty and pride.

And I want you to be part of that. Set up your Tropism system, and show it off by sharing photos and videos on socials. Showcase how you’ve transformed your space, and help us keep building new ways to let plants move and breathe with the people who care for them.

MEET THE FOUNDER

Devon Gwynn

     I’m Devon, founder of Tropism.
As a certified welder with training in machining and 3D modeling, I’ve spent years turning ideas into real steel.
Tropism came from a simple frustration: too many plants, stacked on flimsy shelves, turning care into a chore instead of a joy. I knew there was a better way to integrate plants into how we actually live.
I build everything in Bozeman, Montana, working with local fabricators and makers. Here, winters are long and the growing season is short—keeping plants close isn’t just decoration, it matters.
My goal is straightforward: build beautiful, durable systems that last, support local craft, and make plants feel intentional instead of overwhelming.
